Brenda de Banzie as Maggie and her intended John Mills as Willie will seize your heart with their winsome courtship. Charles Laughton as Henry Hobson gives an outstanding performance as the mulish Victorian with no time for his bothersome daughters, Vicky and Alice, well played respectively by Prunella Scales and Daphne Anderson.
